WHO IS STRANGE FUN COMICS? Strange Fun Comics is the brainchild of Steve Guzelis and Tom Wachowski, from Chicago, Illinois. After producing their well-received Strange Fun Comics #1 back in 1999, they picked up Andrew Joseph, a writer from Toronto, Ontario to create a story for them - he hasn't left since. By the end of 2001, they got Jaunale Forshe (from Chicago, though we suspect he may have been an army brat…) to draw for them. He promptly disappeared like Tina Louise after Gilligan's Island. If anyone knows what happened to Jaunale, please drop us an e-mail!. We also met Chuck Alan Richardson at this time, though he didn’t join us until later. In 2002, Tom Casteel (from Indiana) signed up to draw a few senses-shattering stories, until wedded bliss and a new career forced him to take a leave of absence. SFC hopes he’ll be able to join us again for another trip! The year 2002 also saw Andrew coax Kaya Raby (Toronto) to take on a full 30+ page tale. She did and promptly retired from comics, though she says she can be coxed back for the right story! Pa5cal Saint-Clair (Chicago) also joined us in 2002. Pa5cal’s dark and highly original stylings caught our attention right away, as they will you. We also met creators Jason Chavis and Tiffany Effingson from god only knows where, who presented us with a finished story of their own, yet mysteriously disappeared without ever seeing their story in print. (If you guys are out there, we’d love to hear from you!) Kyu Shim from Toronto also worked with us for a year before slipping through the cracks for a while before coming back in 2005 to work on the good-girl book, Cali Ente.
By 2003 Chuck (from Little Rock, Arkansas) joined up, as did Ruben McNeill (Chicago). Now, while we know where Chuck is, Ruben appears to have disappeared off the face of the Earth. Being a part of SFC is kind of like being a drummer for Spinal Tap. Stuff happens.
Now its 2006, Steve and Andrew are the sole survivors, though they have managed to coax Ernest Posey into doing the penciling duties on a new Cali Ente tale. Dare you join our little team? Artists wanted. Must have a sense of timing, can meet deadlines, a sense of humor and love to draw. Oh, and they must not be afraid of being our drummer. |
